He kinda just vibes in my room when I'm trying to sleep. Recently he's been floating above my bed. I don't abuse drugs or anything he's just kinda there.

I used to see them when I was a kid, 4 years that went on and it was mortifying. I dreaded going to bed even at noon I sometimes thought "This day will end too". Worst 4 years of my life by miles and miles. It then moved on into dreams, thankfully, I had all sort of tricks to wake myself up from night terrors and would be paralyzed but thankfully knew it passed and the demons were not there anymore. >20 years later and I see them in my dreams very rarely and I can "brave" through the dread to wake me up and am fine(-ish, still takes me long to get back to sleep).

Thanks Ms whatever-your-name-was who thought it would be cool to show 7th graders The Ring because thats the movie the class voted for to watch for the english class.

Also I have ADHD which might be relevant? Idk

I had no idea this as a thing. Hope y'all are able to get rid of these weird dreamy things. Strange that it's exactly the same figure for everyone though??? There must be some cultural psychology behind that.

Is that like a sleep paralysis demon? I sold my soul so I’d stop getting sleep paralysis

I have frequent vivid nightmares and I have never in my life seen the hat man.

I believe there is often a materialist cause for these sorts of spooky encounters. I used to get bad sleep paralysis and worse nightmares when I lived in places with dogshit indoor air quality, like lots of dust and mold when living in old shitty apartments. Do you have anything like that going on where you live?

I see him a lot when I'm working outside. It first happened at my first ever "job" where I used to mow the lawn at my dad's job and do other light landscaping. I was about 13 when I first saw him.

Now I live in the woods and see him once in a while if I've been mowing or chopping wood.

The really weird thing is my wife who is like the biggest skeptic on everything told me she's seen him a couple of times outside too.

Edit: I saw your comment about relationships with ones father. When I first saw him, me and my dad didn't see eye to eye. He was a bit more conservative back then and I was a moody little shit who didn't want to do anything aside from listen to rock music. Our relationship is fine now. And has been for over 20 years

Had a super fucked up encounter with him when I was going through some stuff but never saw him again after that.

Glad he’s seemingly just chill for you tho!

I know this is a weird question, but how is your relationship with your father? I've heard that the way the hat man acts is in part influenced by your relationship with your father and I wonder if that theory has merit.

We get along well so maybe I’m an outlier haha.

My experience came when I was having a lot of sleep issues and seeing shadow people pretty much nightly and having a lot of very odd “dreams” so maybe that affected the vibes.

Yeah same, I have no idea if that theory has any research behind it or not. I also feel like being sleep deprived makes some less friendly characters show up.
