Everyone on this subreddit keeps glazing the Ryzen 7 9800x3d like hell. When looking at benchmarks, the 9800x3d performs better in games than the 14900kf, but I am confused as to why that is?

Sure the reason people like the Ryzen CPU is because it is not build on a dead socket and it doesn't unnecessarily consume power like the Intel CPU.

But the 9800x3d has 8 cores and 16 threads while the i9 has 24 cores and 32 threads. Surely they aren't all performing worse than the 8 cores the Ryzen 7 has. I mean having 3 times less cores is insane to me, like my old Intel i7 10700 has the same amount of cores as a top of the line, "best for gaming", 500 Dollar CPU?
