“If you haven’t heard Dr. Harper testify, she does a wonderful job. She knows her stuff,” Allard, who is also the head of the county attorney’s child abuse team, said at the summit. “We just barely try to keep up understanding what she’s talking about. So we just kind of let her go.”

When someone is given absolute power they become absolutely corrupted by that power.

Dr. Harper needs to stop believing she's incapable of making mistakes.

Ah yes appeal to authority. There is a reason this is a well understood fallacy; assuming something is true (or false) because the speaker says it is flawed.

That's how it works now: shut up and smile or get banned. Even here, on Lemmy, where I was hoping to avoid fascist Reddit moderation I was once banned for "antagonistic messages". How dare I express an opinion that doesn't match the "correct" one?

I can't assess who is crazy in this pediatric fight, but asking questions and expressing professional opinions should never lead to losing the job.

You can only be banned on certain instances/communities in the Fediverse. Some people take being banned from certain fascist instances as a mark of pride.

We have instances where moderators don't ban people they don't like?

My instance, for the most part, doesn't ban anyone.

The only ban from SDF I've seen was incredibly well deserved, and I badgered the poor admin probably way too much to get it to happen.

👍 Continue to do what you're doing -- you're doing it well.

Sorry if it came out wrong, I meant the instance I use. I don't run it.
