i doubt it, but let's see.

I think they're doing what they have to do to be honest. I don't like that they fired everyone. I don't like what they've done to their publishing. I am not particularly interested in buying their things anymore. I think a part of that is because they started so whimsically. Some of my favorite games of all time have come from the bundles. Things have changed, but every fudgin' thing in this world has gone up. So clearly, even with a skeleton crew (that's what they have to be running, right?) they more than likely were going to raise the price. Because they gotta do that capitalist thing.
I don't like it. I have never liked it. I think this is more of a "is what it is" thing. For a hobby, it gives you a smattering of games for typically the price of one, on sale. It's freakin' stupid as hey-sauce it's a subscription. Let alone that you need to jumpy through an insane amount of hoops to get your games/unsubscribe. My gal grabbed the one with The Thaumaturge recently, so I saw the lot first hand.
I think they really need to re-evaluate their next few steps however, or they will basically be nullified by whatever is next. If there is a what's next, in gaming bundles. Not sure. I just tend to buy what I like, and what I like is weird.
I haven't been excited for anything in a bundle for years. Their offerings have been garbage for ages.
That's about a 40% increase in the amount I have been paying for years without fail, partially at the threat of if I cancel, I lose my grandfathered pricing.
And frankly the quality of the bundles has been dropping for a while.
I guess I finally cancel then. What a silly way to lose business
Edit: and cancelled, happy there was a text box for me to tell them why I'm gone. 8 years of paying monthly apparently
I’m surprised you lasted this long on it I stopped 5+ years ago because of lacklustre offerings. It used to be so awesome :(
There was the odd diamond in the rough, but I agree it has been getting increasingly worse.
Weirdly enough I was staying subscribed because if I quit I'd lose my current price for good. Makes no difference now
While there might have been an odd diamond in the rough I saved so much by cancelling HB and just buying the game directly
On mobile, the feedback selection / form doesn’t have a submit button 🙃
Yup. Though I've been pausing more and more lately. The months where I already own the games because I loved them are ones that I can't blame them for. But there's been plenty that I just wasn't interested in.
They aren't losing business if it costs them money to have you as a customer
They are losing business, because revenue goes down.
They will negotiate the prices they pay publishers for a set of keys to use in humble choice to mean they get their 15% cut of the revenue. If a publisher sets the price too high, they'll go elsewhere until they can get their margin.
If they lose ~25% of their subscribers over a ~40% price hike, they will be right back where they started in terms of profit—which is a place where they would consider hiking the price and losing customers.
I never understood why someone would stay subscribed to it. Like just get it when there's something you want from it that month and then cancel.
Annual prices are slightly cheaper, but they've been gradually squeezing that too. You can of course pause the months you don't want, but it's a somewhat obtuse process.
The 20% discount on purchases is very nice, though the monthly offerings are extremely hit-or-miss. I’m not sure I’ll stay subscribed at this price, though. The value of the subscription is simply too unpredictable.
The 20% discount is completely theoretical. Very few games, if any, were discountable that low
I use it about once every two months. Most recently, Clair Obscur.
I haven't bought a single bundle since IGN took over.
They run good deals on audio books and Pathfinder material every once in a while. Otherwise, yeah, been a while since I saw a game bundle that was worth the money.
I must have missed the news when Ziff Davis, now I feel even more justified cancelling my subscription, just got the notice today
I forgot this company existed when they got rid of 'pay what you want for the actually good games'
Yup. I understood when they made the $1 minimum but pay what you what has basically been fraud for years now, ever since they started locking games behind an actual price. It's just a bundle sale, and it's not humble anymore
The only relevant part. I hate when they bury news like this inside a couple of paragraphs of guff.
Are they still overselling their bundles so they're aren't enough keys to redeem if you purchased it? I see that practice as being fraudulent.
Yes. They do it with the monthly subscriptions, too.
Oh great, another reason for me to not subscribe. Humble bundle stopped being so humble like a decade ago
I cancelled my subscription as soon as I got the email. Apparently I've been subscribed since January 2017. It used to be worth it back then, but I probably should have canceled after they changed it to choice. I can't remember the last time I played a game from it
Did they not just do this for the month of June? Or perhaps it has been a staggered rollout and they first increased the prices in Canada.
