That’s the neat part, it isn’t.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
It is trending right-wing at the speed of sound; they're perma-banning left-leaning users at whim.
I got banned for saying marines being deployed against US citizens is illegal. Apparently that was too anti-fascist for them.
The absolute irony of posting this on lemmy
Yeah, Reddit is way closer to center than Lemmy is lol.
Thats not to say that Reddit isn't also Left Leaning, just that Lemmy leans Left way more than Reddit.
who is the centermost centrist from your pov? left and right means nothing without reference points. It's like saying cold and hot instead of using specific temperatures like boiling point and freezing point.
And this is without saying that left-right is a 1D projection of a sum of positions in many dimensions.
Clownfish
opinion discarded
Well the 'clown' part of the site name is certainly accurate.
It was at first. Then it was bought
"People downvoted my opinion and I didn't like it. Here is why I do not deserve the downvotes and the website actually just targets me and my opinions only, and how it is actually Obama and Millenials fault"
[x] Doubt
I don't think Reddit is either super left or right, it's just radical. Every opinion stated on the platform is always taken to the absolute extreme, but I would say only a select few popular subs like r/unpopularopinion tend to lean left, but then again I would even argue that they are more libertarian or anarchist if anything
If you aren't on the left you're essentially a palace guard.
Liberalism is centre right ideology and people are interchangeably using it with the left in big 25
Yikes
Left and right is a false dichotomy used to divide the masses.
The difference is somewhere else: two coordinates. Ignorance and human rights. If you're ignorant, you may not know, which still makes you a fool by now.
If you know and dont care for human rights (and animal rights further along but thats a future debate), you're just a monster.
People who dont know about men in ukraine being forced to die for land ownership, who dont know about thousands starving to death on besieged palestine. They're foolishly ignorant.
But those who know, those who are okay with countless innocents being massacred, those are not humans in my book.
Maybe I'm strange but I enjoy reading lots of posted articles even if the headline conflicts with my personal view point/s. Many times you can actually get a better understanding of the opinions of those who disagree with you. I never reject a source. I prefer to read the article and then respond factually with the reasons I disagree with the posted article. Too often I see "I am rejecting the source" because they have no factual comeback.
