What is a Tankie?

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

Look at the caliber of people hex attracts. I feel so insulted that they've banned me multiple times. Such a heavy toll, to not be allowed in such hallowed company. How ever shall i persist this empty, meaningless existence..?

I honestly wish it was just limited to deportations. However I think the US in general has gotten very comfortable with hate and later violence. There have been violent attacks on Jewish people and violent confrontations against various groups protesting based on various views.

Yeah, you go all the way to the left and suddenly you’re on the right in various attitudes. The fringe is always cringe. And I’m not being “centrist”.. I consider myself left liberal but I try to NOT be a hateful condescending asshole to those who don’t fit stringent standards…. I invite all of you to look beyond boilerplate platitudes when addressing something and to consider that understanding others is better than simply doubling down on what your little clique says. I patiently await Hexbear’s sputtering angry reply…
We need empathy now more than ever
I agree. I used to think horseshoe theory was some made up bullshit but in the last few years I have seen communists prove its existence in regards to the current wars in Palestine and Ukraine. In all honesty they have pushed me away from their causes when previously I was sympathetic and thought they had the right ideas. The specific brand of communist that frequents hexbear and other online spaces also alienated me with how bloodthirsty and unhinged they proudly are.
I think the modified horseshoe theory describes it best.

Russian war against Ukraine exposed the tankie narrative for what it is: a shill op against westoid regimes.
