Interstate 60 - a cute quirky B movie with some hella famous actors. Gary Oldman, Christopher Lloyd, Michael J Fox, James Maraden, Chris Cooper, Amy Smart, Kurt Russell. It is a fun and imaginative ride along a made up highway. My favorite scene was the town of Morelaw.
Big Trouble - a great movie shut down by circumstance. It was set for release in late 2001, the end of the movie involves hijacking a plane with a nuclear bomb, but then 9/11 happened so they sent it straight to video and stopped advertising it. Based on a Dave Barry novel, it’s a hilarious story involving a crazy cast of characters you may meet in Florida. Another star studded cast including Tim Allen, The Tooch, Martha Stewart, Janine Garofalo, Zoey Deschanel, Omar Epps, Jason Lee, Johnny Knoxville, and many more.
I have only met a couple people ever who have seen either of these movies.
I unironically enjoy the old 2005 Fantastic 4 movie. It was cheesy as fuck, I don't deny that. But it was fun. And the comics themselves can be as bad or worse sometimes.
Also I like Julian McMahon.
Also also, Chris Evans towel scene.
If you'll notice the arterial nature of the blood coming from the hole in my head, you can assume that we're all having a real lousy day.
Not just one, and DONT GO CALLING The Long Kiss Goodnight SHITTY YOU .. YOU .. MEAN PERSON!
Mine's gotta be "The Brothers Grimm" starring Matt Damon and Heath Ledger. It's the same camp vibe as the "Van Helsing" movie starring Hugh Jackman, but there's no badass super hero to save the day - there's just a bunch of imperfect people trying their best, and it's almost entirely by luck or destiny that they snatch victory from the clutches of defeat. It's also one of the most morbid depictions of childish horror i've seen on-screen, where it gives no fucks about being realistic.
Hot Rod! I can quote pretty much the whole movie. It’s such a fun ride.
Ice Pirates (1984): A bunch of A-Listers before they were big. Great practical effects. Spaceships, Pirates, Time Travel, 'robots' It was magnificent.
Close second: The Cat from Outer Space (1978). It was a Disney flick, but really great for the time.
Loads of classics in this thread, worth bookmarking to revisit later. Let me add one of my own that I haven't seen mentioned:
Babe: Pig in the City (1998) - The first movie I saw in the theater by myself, because nobody could be arsed to come along. In the end I was glad, because I cried so much.
Six String Samurai. It's not good. But it's soooo quotable!
Nice shoes. Nice shoes to DIE in!
RV with Robin Williams came out at a good age for me, I was like 12 so poop jokes and mean spirited jokes that the movie is full of clicked with me.
Wild Wild West baby! You know, the movie Will Smith turned down being Neo in The Matrix for lol
- Big Trouble in Little China
- Escape From New York
- Iron Sky
- Sucker Punch
- Punisher (Dolph Lundgren)
- Red State
- Kung Fury
Contact
I know but that's why I like it
Contact is amazing. there's no way it could be considered a "shitty lil movie"
It's science fiction done properly.
What heck man that is an awesome movie! Based on a Carl Sagan book (which I own) and got Jodie Foster in it (my first movie star crush) this doesn't belong here.
For me its Mallrats. and Jersey Girl, don't care what Kevin Smith says those are both great movies.
Once Bitten, Joe vs the Volcano, and Mortal Kombat are all way better movies than they should have been.
There's a movie called Unstoppable (2010) with Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson. It's about a runaway train causing trouble in Pennsylvania.
I've watched it no less than 30 times.
It's not like I'm into trains or anything. I just think it's a really good movie and every single actor in it is giving 100%.
