How the fuck do people fear the Russian army like this? Literally any western military force would be able to wipe out the entire invading force in Ukraine in a matter of weeks, if not days!

The only things preventing them from doing so is:

1. risk of (albeit small) casualties
2. risk of Russian retaliation through ICBMs (unlikely, but can’t be ruled out)
3. opening up a nation to Russian-led cyberattacks
4. a decisive decimation of Russian forces would be bad for Western arms manufacturers in the short-term
5. a decisive decimation of Russian forces without the collapse of the Russian Federation or ousting of Putin will likely lead to a follow-on conflict in 10-20 years time

Agree with your last sentence; I don’t think anything they have on offer at the moment is even worth pirating - at least until the final season of Stranger Things is released!

No Dan Houser, no Lazlow Jones, hell - probably NONE of the same dev team at all from GTAV (let alone earlier).

This is likely going to end up some weird “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” style monster where some gatcha/shark card filled “live service” is going to go around masquerading as the next entry in this franchise.

Buying direct also gives those companies a higher profit margin; meaning they have the opportunity to expand, or better pay their employees (whether or not they do, is a seperate matter).

That well may be the case, all we can do is hope that the rest of the world can bulwark against the rise of Fascism long enough to watch it fail in the US - at which point, it should hopefully diminish its allure.

But having had to use it for work, I am adamant in saying that Windows 11 will never touch my home system drive.
