Would be nice if they actually reallocate researchbux to another department. These across the board cuts on taxpayer funded research are to pay for the billionaire tax cuts and ICE stormtroopers

I was confused why I never heard that word used about the US when I was little, I didn't know what it actually meant because that's just the constant policy in the US.

Fortunately the US system of government is weird and the executive branch doesn't set the budget. This is a proposal to Congress so time will tell whether it happens.

Incredibly damaging to make deep cuts that wouldn't even allow an agency to mothball assets and keep on the best staff.
