why is austerity almost always a european thing and never really talked about as an american thing
Austerity is just the norm in burgerland, so it need not be named.
The word is too large and foreign-sounding for the average Burglerian to understand.
I was confused why I never heard that word used about the US when I was little, I didn't know what it actually meant because that's just the constant policy in the US.
