Pocket will be shutting down on July 8, 2025. This is very disappointing as I love the compatibility with my Kobo.

In the year 2035 Mozilla will just be a board with 40 million in compensation. No products, just asking for donations to advocate for a free web.

[...] the way people save and consume content on the web has evolved, so we’re channeling our resources into projects that better match browsing habits today.

...in what way?

I used to love it but now I love using Readeck way more!

I use Pocket and Fakespot. Now what? I requested my Pocket data to be downloaded, so I'll have that at least. Fakespot was really valuable, losing it really sucks.

Switch to an open source alternative so you don't have to deal with services shutting down the same way. Some alternatives include Wallabag, Karakeep, Floccus, Otter.

Ugh. I just recently switched back to Pocket after Omnivore shut down, now I gotta go through it again.

Good news. I couldn't stand that feature baked in Firefox.

Stupid Mozilla. Check out Instapaper for a similar service.
