"[Krebs is] under active investigation by law enforcement agencies. That is a fact disqualifying him for Global Entry."

Under investigation for supporting the integrity of US elections. For someone that the administration is actively opposing, Global Entry isn't just a convenience. Losing it means any time he crosses the border, he'll be subject to the whims of an administration that has proven that they don't respect due process. I'm sure Krebs is well-informed about his own security, but from my perspective this does seem a lot like "If we travel, we ~~can~~ probably will arrest you at the border".

Global Entry is like TSA Prepass but for international travel to/from the US.

He can still travel, but will now be subject to standard security checks instead of quick ones.

This is extremely petty.

This guy must have some really incriminating shit on Trump...

[–] 21Cabbage@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 8 hours ago

One assumes you do something other than just annoy somebody who has dirt on you, granted this is Trump we're talking about so he might of convinced himself that was a good idea.

Uhm Chris Krebs a national hero in security, he will spend longer traveling?

Right then

I'm surprised they didn't just put every democrat and people they deem as "RINO"s into a no-fly list.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

i'm sure we're on 'lists' somewhere, they just haven't gotten to our numbers yet.

I mean, literally tho. I'm on the list of registered voters and formerly registered as a Democrat. 👀

(I changed it to independent after the 2024 primaries to avoid shenanigans, but its too late, they already have the records)

Not gonna lie, that sounds like something you'd do if someone knew too much and you didn't want them leaving the country.

[–] jumjummy@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

It doesn’t preclude anyone from traveling. It just won’t let you use the quicker line (like TSA precheck for domestic flights).

This is just a typical petty move.

Such pathetic, shameful bullshit. Jesus.
