HOW THEY GONNA BAN NO MAMES VATO??
Story time! When I was in high school (~1998/99) a group of kids decided to start a “gang.” I went to a small Baptist school. Kids were bored. This was maybe second period. They called their gang the “Yo’s.” Saying “Yo” was pretty much the extent of their gang. By lunchtime a group of us got annoyed and decided to start a rival gang called the “No’s.” The Bloods to the Yo’s Crips. The sign you were a No was you grabbed a brown paper towel from the bathroom and wore it hanging from your back pocket.
Anyway, just before dismissal everyone was called into an assembly and given a lecture on gangs and told that anyone wearing a brown paper towel would receive a detention. I am still amused at how seriously our administration took this obviously stupid and juvenile joke.
Wait until you learn how seriously law enforcement took street gangs.

There was a shirt, it was Mario + Mushroom = Big Mario. Our administration thought this was a drug reference. Some nerdy kid would wear the shirt and about half way through the day they would be wearing it inside out.
Idk... seems like a drug reference, lol. The kid just isn't cool enough to get it.
Literally a 40 year old reference, seniors still in working age was in their 20s when this game was released
As an elder gen Z I can assure you that the list of banned things in my class circa 2015 was somehow worse. Just off the top of my head.

They changed the state anthem of Mississippi a couple of years ago from Go Mississippi to One Mississippi. It's no longer contextually hilarious and not nearly as hoki. I guess Mississippi decided they were not on the right track and probably were never going to get to the top.

I understand hating on Ohio. It's mostly flat and pretty much flyover country.
On the other hand, Ohio is a perfectly cromulent place to live. It's an even better place to be from

As always, the best way to get kids to stop using these words is to use them yourself. Use the ancient cringe-power to disarm the youth 🦹🔥
As a teacher, I cannot tell you how much this changed my life. I just spew their random shit right at them, totally straight-faced, with a painful degree of enunciation. They do not say those words again in my presence. Their cringe feeds me. I also find it helpful to try to get them to define each term, in excruciating detail, then I destroy the word for them.

I spent some time looking up the ones that were unfamiliar. Only the cardiac arrest meme I could not find out much over (outside of a TikTok link)
