The German source for this anniversary (Deutschlandfunk) also mentions how nowadays he is used by right-wing propaganda in the USA, which even uses him to justify the storming of the Capitol.

'Executed' just two weeks before Flossenbürg prisoners were liberated. Even when they knew they had lost, the Nazis were still determined to keep murdering people.

And now today's Nazis exploit his moral courage to justify their moral turpitude? 😡
