Whole Foods and Audible are owned by Amazon btw.

Libro.fm and audiobooks.com are Canadian alternatives to Audible.

Well.ca and local businesses are Canadian alternatives to Amazon. If you really need that low-quality junk (press X to doubt), cut out the middleman and purchse directly from China with Aliexpress instead of Amazon. Amazon sellers usually just markup and resell from Aliexpress/Alibaba anyways.

Amazon sells anything that makes money. This isnt new news.

Pretty sure i saw news articles years ago saying that amazon was making money off selling anti-bezos merchandise

Boycott Amazon.

They kill small businesses and won’t ever ban these types of products.

Boycotting them is easier than it sounds.

In the early 2000s, I stopped going to Walmart for several years. Even now, I have been there maybe 5 times in the last decade. I appreciate all the alternative lists because Amazon is harder to replace because we have less alternatives left and they cover such a broad spectrum of products. I'm doing a pretty good job of not buying much of anything though!

And if your excuse is a remote area, Amazon is so slow at delivering knockoff goods, you might as well get anything you'd normally buy from amazon directly from Aliexpress et al if you can't afford made in Canada for some items. Atleast then you save 60% off Amazon, it arrives in 2 weeks with choice shipping, and Bezos doesn't get to be the middleman.

prohibit the sale of products that promote, incite, or glorify hatred, violence,

How is promoting the take over of a sovereign nation not promoting violence?

Well, I can't boycott them any harder than I already am. Can we just burn them to the ground this time?

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I am boycotting pretty much everything from Murca already, also.

I shill the boycott to everyone who will listen. I don't know how to ratchet it up from here, but I'm listening!

Tesla Takedown protests are a fun option on Saturdays.

‘"Amazon loves money," he told CBC News.’

Wtf?!

Amazon does not only love the money, they also bow down to Trump.

  1. Amazon donated one million dollars for Trump's inauguration. To me that doesn’t smell of elderberries but more like a willingness to cooperate .

  2. The inauguration was streamed live on Amazon's platform, which kind of looks like “strategic alignment”.

  3. Bezos and Trump even meet in person and good old Bezos even made positive statements about Trump's economic plans.

Conclusion: don’t buy at Amazon or any other company owned or associated with Bezos.

Prime: Cancelled. Prime shows: Pirated Amazon app: Deleted

The markup on Amazon for the exact same cheap crap goods is insane. Recently got an hdd enclosure and some torx bits for 5-10% of the Amazon offer.

I've been using Amazon since the only thing they sold was books, back in the early aughts. No more!

Canadian Tire is my new amazon .. haven't tried delivery yet but i did go in-store to buy a few things i was going to get from amazon .. i like how on the website it tells you the aisle number. i guess in the app you can make a light blink on the shelf if you can't find it.

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

The website showing the aisle number is amazing.

Dropped amazon quite a while back, if I can't get it locally, I can live without it. Dropped steam too, I can live without games.

Maybe someone should start selling products with “California, Canada’s newest province”.
