I never used Boost for Reddit, but with this many people singing it's praises... ***BOOST FOR LEMMY, LET'S GOOO! *** Sorry, Connect. You're still cool tho

Boost is my favourite, so looking forward to getting this!

[โ€“] Poe@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

This makes me so happy! I've been maining boost for almost six years now and was so bummed when the dev announced he wasn't going to be working on a Lemmy app. Looks like he changed his mind!

I will launch that ๐Ÿš€ as soon as the app is available. Pre-registration is done, let's goooooooo.

I am thrilled, Boost has been the best Reddit experience for me since I stopped loving Bsconreader. I don't even remember what my problem with it was, I think it was crashing or.... something, haha.

Boost ended up being a UI I preferred significantly, and I never looked back! This is gonna be FANTASTIC, where do I throw my money?!

It looks amazing on the preview images.

[โ€“] KettleBane@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I was so happy when I found this out. I hope Lemmy gets the support.

Android users desperately need a better app for browsing Lemmy than Jerboa. Boost and Sync may just be that app.

This is awesome news. Preferred Boost over Sync/Relay/Rif etc.

[โ€“] Noedel@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

This was my fav reddit app. Used it for years. Very excited!

[โ€“] NoNameOnline@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

I think I currently have 3 Lemmy apps on my phone, currently enjoying Liftoff... But will be VERY likely to go back to Boost if to works On Lemmy :)

[โ€“] itadakimasu@programming.dev 4 points 2 years ago

Oh mah lord

[โ€“] Knightfall@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Boost and Sync were my top two over the years. Happy to see Boost is making this switch too!

This is great! I was so sad when Rubรฉn.said he wouldn't develop boost for lemmy. I think he did create a community as a kind of placeholder, so maybe i should go find it again

[โ€“] Graphine@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

That UI....my god it's gorgeous. This is going to be a game changer for Lemmy.

[โ€“] goddamnpipes@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Jerboa has been a really similar experience to Boost so far, compared to other Lemmy apps. However, Boost had some features I've been missing dearly, I'm so glad to hear this!

I'll definitely use it when it releases!

[โ€“] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Fuck yeah. Let's go.

[โ€“] TrickyCamel@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I've used the app for years, I'm pretty happy it's getting it's lemmy version, it's a surprise but a welcome one.

[โ€“] captainnoueveau@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Most excellent, cannot wait!!

[โ€“] s0phia@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

NO WAY!!! This is amazing news!!

[โ€“] Buzzz@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Anyone use both sync and boost? I had used RIF so trying to get a feel for how each had worked before leaning towards one

Thank you Ruben!

It seems like the future for Lemmy is pretty bright with all these amazing apps switching over.

It's a shame that Christian decided to not develop Apollo for Lemmy for the time being. I bet that would also convince a fair share of users to abandon ship.

Awesome pawsome

[โ€“] Majeed@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Nice! Really hoping BaconReader follows suit soon as well ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

[โ€“] OddlyOdd@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

That's great, was using boost for a long time for reddit, hopefully it'll help me navigate lemmy a little easier.

[โ€“] douglasg14b@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (4 children)

How does this compare to liftoff?

Been enjoying that quite a bit
