I do get the “distributed” nature of networks and the underlying philosophy, but only if there’s a common interface where lemmy/mastodon or other similar network created accounts can be used seamlessly in addition to the current behavior.

I think that's what KBin is trying to address.

Wohooo!!! Favourite app!

[–] tvbusy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I saw that "subreddit" was changed to "communties" in the app recently so I was quite certain that a version for Lemmy is being at least experimented with.

I thought Rubén said he was going to move onto smaller apps instead of making a Lemmy app?

Regardless, I'm glad this is happening!

[–] Paws@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

I'm sure I read that as well. Hopefully he's had a think and decided that a Lemmy app would be really worthwhile. Excited to see what he creates, as I've used Boost for years and thought it was awesome.

Yes! This is the proper response to Reddit's API changes.

Boost was my most used app for several years. Really excited for this and to see the Fediverse grow.

[–] const_void@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 years ago

Great news! Love seeing the Lemmyverse continue to expand!

This will actually make lemmy usable on mobile for me! I've been using boost for years, and I really can't wait.

I'm a sync guy but this news has me so excited. I will try Boost for Lemmy when it comes out and likely support it anyways.

[–] blank3468@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

I used Boost to browse reddit. I'm definitely getting this when it's out.

[–] chico21rico@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Hell yeah, Boost rules

[–] jsalvador@programming.dev 7 points 2 years ago

OMG, cannot wait for this.

[–] herrwoland@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

No waaaaay! The dev said it's not happening, I'm so glad to see he's actually doing it!

[–] RaulitoElLobito@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Well I'm buying it once it releases.

[–] 3xa8yte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 years ago

This won't be pirated mateys, my gold awaits the dev

[–] Sterben@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (6 children)

It will be good feature wise, but privacy?

I fucking knew it, in one of the last updates in the menu it went from "find subreddit" to "find community"

[–] Majeed@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Nice! Really hoping BaconReader follows suit soon as well 👍🏻

Awesome, used to use the reddit version and really liked it, switched from the official app and never looked back. Excited to try it out when it releases (also this is my first comment on lemmy, been lurking for a week or so but I think it's time I start interacting)

[–] rustytree@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Yes! Boost was my favorite.

[–] falconfetus8@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

I am super duper excited!

[–] Severopol@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Fantastic news. This'll really scratch the itch.

[–] GatoB@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

This is a game changer

[–] Clbull@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (6 children)

Android users desperately need a better app for browsing Lemmy than Jerboa. Boost and Sync may just be that app.

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I never used Boost for Reddit, but with this many people singing it's praises... ***BOOST FOR LEMMY, LET'S GOOO! *** Sorry, Connect. You're still cool tho
