For the past day or so every time I try to open Jerboa it just crashes immediately without an error message why. Is there any scheduled update/fix for Jerboa? I'd like to be able to browse on mobile again and really enjoyed the app while it was working.

-posted from my pc (only because I can't get the app to work)

Crashing on start in Android 14 b3

[–] Parzival@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 years ago

Yes, it kept crashing after a few minuted of use on my android. Not unsurprising when all this is very new. Gonna wait for the in-development boost and sync for Lemmy.

It's working just fine here. Latest Jerboa from F-Droid, just updated, on latest Android.

I'm having more problems w jerboa than WefWef ATM.

I had this issue with my lemmy.world account, but I was able to get Jerboa to work again by logging into my lemmy.ee account. It was tricky because of how fast it kept crashing but I got it to work after a few tries hitting the buttons as fast as I could. Now browsing from my lemmy.ee account it seems like the main problems are gone.

They're not the same accounts on these different instances? I'm so lost in this this new world...

Give Thunder a shot. I really like it

My issue is not being available from a platform. Downloading an unknown apk is more risk than how evil the Play store is.

Is it available on an Fdroid repo? I didn't find it on the main one.

IzzyOnDroid repo. I'm downloading it from said repo via Neo Store now.

[–] baronvonj@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah it just crashes on startup for me so I switched to LiftOff. Don't think I'll go back even after lemmy.world goes to v0.18.

Maybe not very helpful, but the Lemmy experience on Android browsers is pretty good. I'm using mobile Firefox and it's much fun, it's especially fascinating to see the pages auto-syncing without having to reload them. But I can see how you would prefer the app.

I can only read and comment on the web right now, which is fine. I just assume the apps will clear up in a day or two.

Crashing for me. Switched to Connect. Works well... except you can't pinch zoom images, which is a huge problem...

[–] kuro_neko@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

Connect dev here. It's coming!

[–] xT1TANx@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Was CTD all morning forw but now working

[–] Delusion6903@discuss.online 1 points 2 years ago

I used it, had problems, dropped it. Using Connect now. Wefwef is good if you like PWAs.

[–] Lzwzli@reddthat.com 1 points 2 years ago

Works for me.

  1. Force stop the app
  2. Clear cache
  3. Clear local data
  4. Relaunch and log in
  5. ...
  6. Profit
[–] pory@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

This didn't work for me. I had to find a forked version that supported lemmy.world's "outdated server".

I'm using connect for lemmy and it's so good, reminds me of boost and sync.
