Good for her.
…still not watching the movie, but good for her!
My students said it was awful. They actually like the actress in that role, btw, but just... Everything else is awful.
It's a live-action Disney remake. They're all shit.
You shouldn't, live* action re-creations are so lazy
I guiltily admit i do watch them as background noise years after they’ve been released to make sure they suck. They typically do, though I’ve heard The Jungle Book live remake wasn’t bad.
IMO The Little Mermaid live action remake was pretty good. They made the love interest make more sense, not just the guy going "pretty girl is pretty" and also I liked that
As for the others, I've se Beauty and The Beast and wasn't impressed but have watched none of the others because all of them live in an uncanny valley I don't want to visit.
Believe it or not, Lady and the Tramp was a surprisingly good live-action-ish remake. Maybe my expectations were low as it wasn't released in theaters, but I enjoyed it more than the bigger budgeted ones.
Cruella wasn’t too bad.
Agreed. Loved it so much I saw it twice.
But to be fair—it was a prequel—not a remake.
At the very least, fight against the shitty misinformation and slander campaign against her.
I feel like Walt would approve hating on Israel.
I’ve heard it said that Walt was an antisemite, so I looked it up to confirm. According to an article in jewishpress.com the evidence that Walt was really an antisemite is weak but the MPA of the time had more things of concern.. That same article goes on to equate anti-Israel with antisemitism so I doubt they’d give Walt any benefit of a doubt.
I’m not on Twitter, but I hear getting exposure to actual vile antisemitism happens quite fast.
I cannot wait for us to be past this “any criticism of Israel is antisemitism” and the US funding a genocide phase.
The twit was ‘and always remember, free palestine.’
Do you consider that to be hating on Israel?
Is hating on the Holocaust hating on the Nazis?
As melon-scratchers go, that's a honeydoodle!
I don’t view it that way, but Walt Disney definitely would.
Why?
You realize taking all the Jewish people out of Europe and putting them somewhere like the Middle East was one of the Nazis original plans...
Right?
If you didn't know that, you'd probably be constantly confused with why all types of Nazis are supporting Israel in 2025
Saying "free Palestine" does not equal "down with Israel and the Jews". Wanting freedom from oppression for one group is not an endorsement of violence or oppression against another.
It’s hard to say…there’s this thing where a ton of people hate Jews but love Israel
Either way he would still be an anti-union jackass so I don't really care what he would think
