Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Ticket sales at the Kennedy Center dropped 50% after Trump overhauled its board, installed himself as chairman, and fired president Deborah Rutter.

Trump framed the changes as a fight against "woke" culture, leading to the cancellation of performances, including a children's musical and a concert by the Gay Men's Chorus.

Several artists and board members, including Issa Rae and Shonda Rhimes, withdrew in protest.

The White House defended the move, saying it aims to restore the center’s prestige by aligning it with "America’s great history and traditions."

Yes, America does have a history of being bigoted, non-inclusive assholes so they're right about that.

Controlling the culture is a hallmark of fascism.

Small wonder. Might be that the people that want to attend such things prefer things to be "woke", no matter how many tears the right wing dipshits shed about it. How many in the RW would attend such things, anyway?

This is like taking over some special interest group like a vegetarian cuisine and book club meetup and then crying it's too "woke", making it a BBQ gathered around a television blaring Faux "News", and being surprised when no one shows up.

People build a culture and outsiders insist on inserting themselves into it and forcing others to cater to their tastes. Same thing that always happens with “anti-woke” culture warriors. They cannot create, only co-opt

Also Christianity.

So what's the officially-sanctioned art in the 4th Reich?

In the 3rd, it was roman-style statues and Wagner. I'm guessing it'll be AI-generated portraits of His Orangeness and Kid Rock in the 4th...

Ah yes, the classic "so busy being 'great' that they forgot to be 'good."

How long until Kid Rock or Ted Nugent take up permanent residency?
