Every generation thinks it invented writing in all lowercase.

Writing developed quite a bit since then. It's a lot about cognitive efficiency. Upper case letters and other grammatical cues aid in efficiency. not using these conventions benefits the writer but not the reader

I love when the worst examples are held up as representatives of the entire group. There have ALWAYS been lazy people and there have always been ignorant people. Ignoring capitalization, punctuation and grammar has always been on the table for those who have no self respect.

Lowercase is more than just a The Guardian, and that's important to remember.

I mean, lowercase does flow better in actually writing, but philosophizing this is kinda dumb ╮( ̄~ ̄)╭

Uppercase exists to add structure which helps us parse meaning more quickly. Not sure how removing that structure helps anything flow

Influential artists such as Billie Eilish, 23, have reinforced this aesthetic, using lowercase in song or album titles such as don’t smile at me or my future.

don't smile at me or my future.
