A cool example of this in play:

Songboy3's Something Special redone as spoken word by French(?) vocalist, MiElle, which is itself then remixed with several samples by Rocavaco into I Refuse to Give Up.

At the same time, there's Loveshadow's remix of it, THE Reason! (Somethin Special) retaining more of the original while adding in their own vocals and tunes for their own masterful remix.
