Not all. Timed road racing is "Whoever crosses the start/finish line first after the clock has run out." Bracket drag racing is "Whoever gets closest to their dial-in time without going over."
I don't know what it's called, but it's like demolition derby, but a race around an oval instead of just smashing into each other in the center, and the winner is whoever has the last car still operational. It's the only thing I go to the local track for.
