You can't win the game You can just lose the least

The game?

Is this some early 2000s meme I'm too young to understand or am I not seeing something?

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 47 points 11 months ago (2 children)

don't worry about it, some dead memes should stay dead

Apparently something like one in five people are aware of the game in some survey. Referenced in a podcast I can't remember well.

I lost the game.

This meme has got so much crust that I needed a chisel to chip it off.

I feel like I won the game, as I knew what the game was, forgot it, saw this meme, still didn't remember, googled it and than was like: oh yeah I think I heard about this

Cool story bro. Sadly, there are no win conditions.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

There's one for sure.

Not playing :)

[–] mino@lemmy.ml 0 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Rule 1. Everyone in the world is playing the game.

You could argue that it doesn't apply to you since you are deciding not to play the game as a free agent. However then you can also not win anymore because you are not playing the game.

No, not playing means not wasting time and energy on it. That is a full win.

Anyone trying to pretend that participation in a thought experiment isn't voluntary would be wise to choose very carefully who they pull that with irl.

[–] mino@lemmy.ml 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Remember one must announce they have lost. I'll be lenient your downvotes will be considered announcements.

[–] Gremour@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago
