Mysterious behavior of a human

[โ€“] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 1 points 10 months ago

Neil has been spending way too much time trying to kiss himself somewhere other than the lips on a mirror.

"What?! How could they leave me off the poster?"

[โ€“] CodingCarpenter@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago

They also left off Mr wizard

[โ€“] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 11 points 11 months ago

Pretty sure Neil just wants you to know that he's smarter than you.

It's a bit sad Mickael Stevens isn't in the picture, but to be fair he hasn't done a long form video in years.

I would replace Neil with any number of s ience educators tbh. He's just famous, not necessarily good.

Here's the beauty of content creation, with as much effort as it took you to write that criticism, you could've made a list and posted it yourself!

But that would expose you to people who are critical of other people's lists, and invite them to bring negativity to your work, is that why you decided to be critical of this list instead of making one of your own? Please reflect.

[โ€“] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 11 months ago

After I wrote that I did settle on Hank Green as my main choice, but other than him I have several, and making a list does require proper reflection.

[โ€“] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Whoโ€™d you replace him with? I know he gets a bad rap on the personality front.

Not requesting any reflection ๐Ÿ˜‰

[โ€“] sheep@adultswim.fan 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Oh, Hank Green in a heartbeat.

[โ€“] moosetwin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago

+1 for Hank Green, he has done so much good

[โ€“] Xaphanos@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

And Steve Irwin.

[โ€“] abbadon420@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

Fair point. What about Grant Sanderson (3blue1brown)?

[โ€“] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (3 children)

I can recognize Sagan, Tyson and Ross, but who are the others?

[โ€“] goldteeth@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 11 months ago

Bill Nye, d/b/a the Science Guy, top-right; Mr. Fred Rogers top-left.

[โ€“] Sotuanduso@lemm.ee 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I like how you listed Ross by last name alongside some of the other scientists.

[โ€“] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

I'm not very familiar with Bob Ross, but what I've heard from the internet memes he was very respectable person. And being an artist is no more or less important than a scientist

[โ€“] Sotuanduso@lemm.ee 6 points 11 months ago

Yes, I agree, he was very respectable, and definitely belongs on the same level of prestige. I said I like it.

[โ€“] not_woody_shaw@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Bill Nye the science guy.
