No dad and no Niles, what is even the point. The only way this would have worked is if frasier had to retire and move in with Frederick who is now a cop. So like a reversal.
That would have actually worked...
Instead of a grouchy retired cop, a grouchy fancy man sipping wine and criticizing everything. That's perfect.
This isn't a spinoff, though, it's a revival. Spinoffs generally have side-characters from the previous show as a main character. This is just more Frasier, not a Daphne or Bulldog show.
No Daphne and only sometimes roz.
They do move in with each other (kinda). And Frederick is a Fire Fighter.
