There's zero chance thankfully. There's an initial hurdle of getting on the ballot that he won't pass (plus he's roundly considered an idiot here).

From this page:

To be eligible for election as President, you must be an Irish citizen who is 35 or older. You must be nominated either by:

  • At least 20 members of the Oireachtas
  • At least 4 local authorities
  • Former or retiring Presidents can nominate themselves

Oireachtas means parliament.

I hear you but nah. We're thankfully not following the rest of the world. There are slightly more bonkers people now than ten years ago but I'm hoping we'll still be the reasonable country for a long while yet.

I'd nearly like to see him on the ballot just to damage his ego when he gets about twenty votes. He's roundly disliked here.
