"Trans people should be unemployable" will inevitably get followed by "Trans people are all welfare queens" and then on to "We must sacrifice Trans People to win elections / make the economy line go up".
American Democrats are already here
And they keep telling me I need to vote for them so they can kill me a little slower.
I call that genre of Democratic fan ‘vote blue even they kill you.’ Since yeah, that’s more or less what they’re saying in between getting mad about trans people existing as anything other than a hypothetical to debate. Show up and say their political darling of the minute isn’t perfect and out come the justifications and accusations.
We won't be welfare queens, we'll be sex workers because we'll be merely considered unemployable not disabled or regular unemployed. And they're already cracking down on sex work.
Hate crimes will just be another dead prostitute.

Welcome to a lot of our history and the reality for many of our siblings around the world. It's not ok, and the idea of it is personally revolting to me as a lesbian. But you survive however it takes.
I dream of a world in which that history is fully past, where trans people selling their bodies all do it freely of their own volition and not because its the only work they can find or because they've been taught that that's the only value they have or the only they can be made to feel desirable.
