MODERATORS

Hi comrades,

Sorry for my prolonged hiatus. As you know, there has been frequent downtime recently on https://jumble.top/. The issues were due to insufficient resources on the server, and more recently due to a disastrous maintenance operation at the hosting provider.

We are now back on a more powerful server with a different hosting provider. I can't guarantee it will be perfect but it should be more stable.

Thank you to @21Gramsci@hexbear.net for setting up the alternative service. I will be in touch with them to collaborate on sharing the feeds and know-how.

And thanks to everyone for your interest in this project and for all the feeds you've sent in.

Thanks for the update! And the slop.

I just had an idea. There could be some reason not do it, including just being too much extra effort for what is already an big voluntary project. Or it could be some sort of heatscore.

But I will share in case it would be useful.

And RSS feed about the project status. E.g. jumble.top/news.xml Ideally one that pretended to be a properly formatted audio feed so that even picky podcast clients could properly collect it. Would probably want to have a small placeholder audio file included so it will not be rejected.

Or maybe a feed on a separate host so that it wouldn't be killed at the same time if there was a hosting/domain issue.

Is there a way to create a proper podcast RSS feed via Lemmy or other fediverse project? Using a thread, comm, user, tag etc? Maybe peertube? So it wouldn't be all on one person to update.

Not specific to jumble.top, also any sibling projects.
