Who's this asshole and why should I care what he thinks?

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 2 points 14 hours ago

he's a streamer that somehow gets crazy high view counts, got rich off it all, is a cunt, and you definitely shouldn't give a fuck about his opinion however you should pay attention to what somebody with this influence teaches other people

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nobody should care what literally any streamer thinks

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago

Also too far.
Just use your intellect to decide when to stop caring.

In that case: 100%

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s a streamer named xqc and you shouldn’t

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (3 children)

How do these fuckwits become so famous with toxic bullshit. Does he actually make a living with his stream?

[–] underscores@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago

it's because he's so fucking stupid that some people think it's funny, the odd side-effect effect is that even stupid people think that his popularity is because of something else

so you get this weird community of hate watchers and fans? following the popular streamer and wanting attention/ being parasocial

he's extremely obnoxious but it is my impression that being obnoxious annoying and loud is ultimately the winning strategy for live streaming

You know, I tried streaming for a bit... but I'm boring. I hate saying dumb shit, I hate reacting in any significant way, and if I get too excited, I start mumbling and stop pronouncing.

So while I hate such characters, I don't find it that strange.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can start streaming why not. Working on a cooking YouTube channel hope to launch next month.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To get publicity post ragebait cooking clips to TikTok, but then on YouTube it's a proper cooking channel.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

I don't do Tiktok or shorts. I will do a proper YouTube channel. Do my main video, with bonus episodes on Patreon. Just waiting on getting my camera.

I think he’s like a multimillionaire, honestly.

From subscribers and sponsors and stuff.

In June 2023, Lengyel signed a two-year, non-exclusive $100 million deal to stream on Kick.

His real name is Felix Lengyel.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

What the fuck! What hell is kicked? And how we on the left get deals like this?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 1 day ago

Use alt-right talking points to get famous, then once you make the multimillion dollar deal, 180 back to leftism.

[–] erin@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago

There are leftist and progressive streamers making a lot of money. I would guess that more than half of streamers are not conservatives. Most successful streamers are very supportive of progressive causes and inclusivity.
