A place to share practical, durable and quality made products that are made to last, with an emphasis on upcycled and sustainable products!

Guidelines:

Things that are well-made and durable (even if they won't last a lifetime) are A-Okay!

Unlike that other BIFL place, Home-made and DIY items are encouraged here, as long as some form of instruction is included in the body of the post.

Videos links are not allowed as post titles, but you may use them in a text post.

A limited amount of self-promotion is accepted, IF the item you are selling aligns with this criteria:

  1. The item must be made with sustainable or recycled materials.
  2. If electronic in some way, the item must be open-source.
  3. The item must be user-serviceable (if applicable).
  4. You cannot be a large corporation.
  5. The post must be clearly marked with a [Self Promotion] tag in your title.

Sturdy glassware with glass lids. The generic seals are easily replacable, and will be available for decades to come. They can be put in the microwave or freezer (without the seal), and obviously don't leech any microplastics or hormones into your food.

Produced in Germany since 1900.

Traditionally these are used for making jam, but the larger ones also make for good storage containers for cereal, pasta, flour and sugar etc

I bought a lot of them on glass-shop.com some months ago. They are really great and not as thin as other glasses. However I am not so sure about the lid. I bough silicon lids like these, because I wanted a quick possibility to open them, but they suck. They are not tight at all, it's more like you lay them on the glass. I want those to be tight and safe against food moths. What do you think about the traditional lids like depicted in your photo? Are there better ones, that make it more comfortable to open the glasses?

I think "swing top" is what your looking for. Weck has them too I don't know if you can add them to your existing jars
