RULES
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
- Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
- Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
- Keep it clean and SFW
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Ok thanks for the advice because I have come across some places like that where I’m like oh the last post like a month or two ago? I mean that’s really that long ago but eh..is it worth it?
But I’ll try me best to keep things going if I feel strongly enough about a community
The other nice thing is that you make your own feed, and there's no central algorithm like Reddit that boosts specific communities. So you might subscribe to a community and there's no activity for months, but as soon as there's something worth posting, it will hit everyone who subscribes to it and start the conversation. Then, it might just go away again until something else interesting happens.
The way it should be.
That is nice. The other thing is, it’d be to cool this place grow a little but at the same time I like that there’s way less people on here. I was active on some movie subs and I can’t tell you how many of the same posts and same discussions I saw, nobody had anything new to say about anything. Echo chamber and all that.
I don’t know it’s hard to describe, this place just seems a little more laidback and slow paced but that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I’m off all other social media now except for this. And I don’t know how long I’ll last here but while I’m a little let to the party I’m giving it a try.
