Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

When they raided Epstein's properties they removed tonnes and tones of computers, storage media, notebooks etc. There are some famous photos (video?) From a raid where there were stacks of CD binders with spines labeled like "[man name] + [victim name]" which are speculated to be full of comprimat about [man name] in the form of CSAM.

Of course something like this couldn't be released as Pam Bondi points out because you can't just release a bunch if CSAM no matter what you think of [man name].

And also other documents which have presumably been accumulated in the process of whatever fake ass investigations have been conducted.

You could at least release all the [man name]s after confirming the content on the CDs privately, right?

I mean I dont know that the state should be making assertions like that without doing anything about it..

the government can't just go around making public, widely discussed announcements that they had extensive video evidence of specific individuals committing some heinous crimes. They don't have any chance to dispute it or to argue innocence. Which, as guilty as we may think people may be based on their class affiliation, they should still not be declared socially guilty by fiat, especially by Donald trumps wacky band of misfits.

If the state has evidence of crimes then they should charge or something. (From the perspective of the current system of government.) Not spread gossip, which is essentially what theyd be doing.

End of the day, there was never any possibility of the kind of pedo purge of government people are hoping for. So they've got themselves into quite a pickle by constantly banging the drum that theyd do it.

Have a trial, let the jury view the material.

I'm not sure if anyone is even talking about that. I just see "transparency". But it's not like I spend a lot of time following the Discourse.

You’d need a jury comfortable with watching CSAM and we have a word for people like that.

oh yea totally, a jury has never had to deal with a CSAM involved case ever before. this would be the first one ever.

That's like saying forensic pathologists must all get off on mutilated corpses. The jury selection would be restricted by them needing to view such material, but there are still people who would be willing to for the sake of getting a just conviction. I'm not sure if this is obvious to you, but there are people whose jobs it is to investigate things like this as it is, and I don't think it's reasonable to assume that most of them are just pedos.

I’m mostly saying it in jest, my apologies.

soo... in your opinion anyone involved or interested in punishing or otherwise bringing to account perpetrators of CSA is by definition a pedophile themselves?
