if you can handle engineering math machinist stuff should be super easy, I've had to relearn sokatoa every time I went back for schooling and I still passed all my tests first try though the red seal was a spot on 70% pass but that was mainly a time constraint thing, outside of math if you are in canada you can get a lot of reimbursements and tax breaks for going to school
pay is decent, I kind of suck and I'm still making 36 canadian and can top out with average companies for about 45, if you go to school and they cover cnc make sure to try and learn about more than one type of machine like okuma and mada not just haas because they gave machines/money to the school
I'm wanting to get into engineering myself as the drafting part of the course was pretty much the only thing that has come naturally to me
