Since he has started signing some of his posts (like my mom signs her texts), I do wonder if the unsigned ones are posted by someone else. Or maybe he just thinks he should sign the Really Important Ones.

Definitely. This one was not written by him. Too many accurate details about Vietnamese titles and too many long words in general. When he writes his own they are usually in all caps, doesn't contain any large words, but frequently contains typos instead.
