Yeah... maybe explosive arrows to start with. But I think its credible they exported the war technology for their other conquests. The mongols are so fascinating. I love the Dan Carlin Hardcore History episodes on them.
The explosives described in that paper were pretty legit
And yeah, I'm disappointed Dan Carlin hasn't released much lately. Wrath of the Khans was an excellent series
I have followed him for quite a while and have an archive of his episodes from 1 to 56 (and this recommended me to grab 57 to 72 before they go subscription only)
It's one of the few podcasts I re-listen to
