My wife got an aventon abound (e-bike, not trike)this last winter, and it has been great. We go on all day family bike rides once per weekend, weather permitting. She still pedals and gets a workout but it helps for steep hills and the distances I like to go. Our oldest sits on the passenger rail on the back and I drag the youngest in a burley bee.
We usually loop around one of the lakes by us stopping at playgrounds along the way, we do anywhere from 30 to 40 miles. It’s family time, outdoor time, and exercise all wrapped up in one. My wife was a bit nervous at first, but now she loves it. Stuff like the bike and the trike in the post are great for getting people moving and outside who might be otherwise daunted or unable.
