Because they hate everything cool and good and their whole deal is a hatred of complexity, a fear of understanding¹ so everything thry dislike converges, in their minds, into a single point of white hot hate.

I mean, um... You're more badass than you actually are! Poopyhead!

¹no coincidence that lovecraft named his cat that and wrote about the kind of horror he did
