He's a US Senator. If he was really serious, he would be arranging a filibuster of El Salvador. Normally I'm not in favor of the US and its citizens overthrowing Central American governments. But if you're openly calling yourself a dictator and operating literal concentration camps? Yeah, sorry. You deserve what's coming to you.

Yeah and you know what the backlash to that would be? Do you have to live here and see how insane the nationalists will become as you go from one Bukele to seven of them all across the region? All of you should get the fuck out of our countries and keep to yourselves. Plenty of us don’t like him either. Many are sacrificing themselves to deal with him and other corrupt officials across Central America.

Amazing how people will say NATO was wrong for bombing Serbia over claims of genocide and then advocate to do exactly that to El Salvador. Just casual NATO chauvinism.

The difference is that the US overthrows democratically elected socialist leaders to install dictators, whereas you want to overthrow dictators to install democratically elected socialist leaders.

Edit: After rereading this comment, I feel the need to clarify that I'm not actually advocating that the US do this. Take a look at Afghanistan to see what happens when the US actually tries to do this. I'm not sure because countries would only do foreign interventionism if they had an agenda to promote and interest in the region but maybe something like the investment China is providing in Africa would be fine though?

I am fully convinced that he has signed his own death warrant at this point. Eventually, one way or another, the Trump regime will end. And building a concentration camp for American citizens is not something people will forgive or forget. Cries will go out to depose him like we have countless Central American leaders before, except this time we'll actually be on the side of the angels for once. Bukele is going to get the Osama Bin Ladin treatment by the time this is all over. He has signed his own death warrant.

If one country is happily holding innocent people from another country in concentration camps, I'm not going to cry many tears when they invade. Of course I'd prefer the USA deals with its own shit first and stops sending them over in the first place, but if Bukele isn't sending them back when the US asks for them back, then what else do you expect to happen?

History so far says the democrats won't do this. But there has to be a breaking point somewhere. I can sell "Kill Bukele" to any Democrat voter pretty easily. They might flinch but at most they'll just say "not in public". Getting democrat politicians on board is an entirely different story. It makes for a compelling transitional demand. Will certainly serve to separate the chaff from the wheat with democrats.
