there is a contradiction there. Before ai came along, there was rhetoric about how art takes intense training and skill and this is why being an artist should be a viable profession. Now, the position is that making art is actually universally accessible

A skill being difficult to master does not make it inaccessible or somehow walled off by an elite in-group. This isn’t complicated. A soccer ball is cheap to buy and winning a soccer game is hard. These two facts are not mutually exclusive, to the point where they’re basically unrelated.

yeah i can't make visual art for shit. certainly not any art that anyone else wants to look at nor anything i'd imagine myself making if i had the ability.
