Huh, I thought Sensodyne was an American company, but GSK spun it off with Haleon in 2022 to become a UK company.
I'd argue that doesn't make it much better, but if you have sensitive teeth, you do what you gotta do.
Compared to the USA, the UK are a picture-perfect democracy. The UK isn't even much worse than most big EU countries.
The UK is starting to get weird. Their PM recently blamed bats for the lack of housing (spoiler: there is enough housing, but there isn't enough affordable housing).
I wasn't commenting on the relative merits of the UK vs the US, but rather the nebulous distinction between international conglomerations that exist to satisfy regulatory requirements. But I can see how that wasn't clear at all.
Compared to the usa they're doing the shit that got us here. Amplifying state power to crack down on dissent eventually leads to someone who will use it getting it
Yes, but my point is that most big EU countries aren't much better. Germany is getting a right-wing government that's already threatening left-leaning NGOs and is explicitly anti-immigration, France is well-known for being violent against protestors (though at least their protesters don't fuck around, either) and is making encrypted chat illegal, and while I'm not hearing much out of Italy, they do have a right-wing government as well so I'm not holding my breath on that, either. Poland recently ditched their authoritarian government, but it could easily make a comeback next election. Spain seems cool though.
