The supreme court doesn't have a police force to enforce their rulings. JD Vance worked that out before the election. It relies upon the Federal government, as an institution, to follow it's will. Then came MAGA and the LOLs will ensure.
Incorrect. The courts can deputize anyone.
They can make a police force.
Edit: Further, the supreme Court has its own marshal service that answers only to them. The courts are capable of enforcing decisions, this is entirely on purpose.
The marshals are unfortunately part of the DoJ and funded by the executive.
Again, different marshals.
The Marshall of the United States Supreme Court only answers to the supreme Court and is not part of DoJ.
Even it true (and I'm sure that you're right), are you seriously telling me that Roberts' ragtag blob of clerks and security guards will overcome Trump's FBI and Federal security apparatus?
Or is your point just a technical correction?
I don't think that deputising a few people is going to disarm Donnie. Especially after their ruling that any "official acts" he makes are legal and legitimate.
No, it won't. But that's the not the point. The point is that the Supreme Court has the power to enforce their decisions if they have to.
In part of the deputization, they can appoint the power to the Marshal of the Supreme court to deputize necessary individuals.
If Roberts does feel the Supreme Court power is threatened he can do something about it. If he doesn't it's an indication he's in agreement with Trump's power.
It largely hasn't been necessary, but it is there.
I believe in theory, they could deputize millions of people.
Correct.
