Flashpoint Archive is a community effort to preserve games and animations from the web.

Internet history and culture is important, and the web is evolving at such a rapid pace that what might be commonplace today could be obsolete tomorrow. This project is dedicated to preserving as many experiences from these platforms as possible, so that they aren't lost to time. Since December 2017, over 200,000 games and animations have been preserved across more than a hundred browser plugins and web technologies.

The Flashpoint Launcher (FPL) is a desktop application made for browsing, storing and launching other applications (games, animations, web apps etc.). It is specifically made for Flashpoint Archive, a non-profit with the goal of furthering archival and accessibility efforts for games, animations and other digital interactive experiences on the web.

Flashpoint Archive seems to be a collection of mostly flash media content (think games on newgrounds or kongregate in the 2000s up to the death of flash)

for any one else wondering what this is.

I'll have to take a look if i cand find that zombie wave defense game i used to play during compsci classes or the one about shooting a hamster into space.

Flashpoint has pretty much every Flash game and animation ever made, no matter how niche, except for a few that the creators asked them to remove from the collection. I believe the full collection is over one and a half terabytes.
