I have seen a post about the communist parties in Germany and thought I'd ask the same question about Austria.

I know there is the KPÖ with its complicated history and nowadays a euro-communist stance with heavy focus on local/regional work in housing and social topics. I read in a reddit post, that the youth organization (KJÖ) is much more marxist-leninist oriented and that they are trying to bring the KPÖ on that line again.

Then there's the PdA. I heard they are actually marxist-leninist but kind of dogmatic and you don't see much of them if you don't search by yourself. They are part of the European Communist Action. That's a positive point i guess..

I'd like to contribute in a meaningful way, also i like to discuss about theory and learn to speak theory in a coherent way with people who are yet to be educated.

So, what to do?

I think if you want to learn how to organize and meet at least some like minded comrades who can contribute that the KPO is the better option of the two. Our party has contact with them quite often and while they probably aren't ML's I at least think they are a more serious option for now.

I just found an article posted by de PdA: https://parteiderarbeit.at/themen/stellungnahmen/zur-haltung-der-pda-zur-vr-china-und-zur-kp-chinas/

They write the tree main points of the article at the end:

  1. PRC is has a capitalist mode of production
  2. PRC has no socialist orientation
  3. CPC is not a communist party anymore

I am confused, as I thought the PdA is more open to AES...

Thank you, I guess I'll contact them then.
