I just reread your post and realised your specifically looking for finance. I think i just saw Galbraith and thought economics. Sorry my recommendations probably missed the mark.

I was quite upset when be passed :( I came to him from the original publishing of his article Bullshit Jobs that he then reworked into a book.
Galbriath is recommended by the likes of Charlie Munger, Howard Marks etal and even Taleb himself in his book, all three being rightfully despairaging of economists but he's on my list for that reason and has been for a long time, it's a looooonnnng list of unread books :(.
