  • Ich will keine irgendwie obskuren Tastenkombis auswendig lernen müssen.

Tomorrow is the day! Today's game is Halo. Specifically the public multiplayer of Halo 3. We also did some CE but Steam seems to be feuding with anything microsoft recently and has so issues with the screenshots, so i had to go in with theater and take them that way.

The main screenshot is from a slayer match where i saw someone coming on my Minimap and hid behind a corner to jump them. It was fun, it felt cheap though so i only did it once, the constant fire though made it difficult to try and get off those stairs.

I've always dismissed Halo public matchmaking as being not for me, as i didn't grow up with it, but i had a friend in my party who did and he suggested turning off the Precession slayer and Swat modes, and what do you know? I actually did really well. Maybe it's just sheer blind luck, but i won 2/3 games i did by a pretty close margin. This isn't meant to shit on people who are really skilled at the game btw. Mad respect to them, just, I want something a little more casual personally.

Before we turned off Swat though, we were getting stomped by these guys who seem to be regulars. They were really skilled, we didn't have much room to move before they sniped us and we kept matching with them lol. No ill will though, it's just the way PvP games work and we still had fun.

I mentioned Halo CE and i did manage to get one screenshot of it. it's an absolutely random one but i love it. It's from me getting pelted by a grenade from across the map while holding the point. That's honestly what i love about CE multiplayer. It's like a Magnum and Grenade Hell. There's explosions left and right and you can absolutely get your ass handed too you by the most basic weapon in the game. I love it.

I wanted to end off tonight with my favorite kill of the match. Some guy came down the stairs when i was trying to get off and i tried to get him with the hammer. I missed enough that he still went flying but he didn't die. He killed me but the momentum from the hammer sent him backwards and he fell right off the landing and i got the kill like 5 seconds later. It was a fun match. I doubt the people i played against are going to see this, but absolutely a good game. Sorry for Teabagging you though, I got a little caught up in the moment and Campaign Co-Op instincts kicked in.

I've had a deck for a few years now and used it a moderate amount as a handheld. In the past few months though my kid has gotten older and wanted to play games on the TV so I bought a dock and controller, which has been solid but playing decent games on a 4K TV just struggles with Steamdeck hardware which is totally reasonable. A high end gaming PC it is not. but then stumbled on a post about Geforce Now coming to SD, and at 30 bucks a month for the RTX 4080 rig I had to give it a shot. surely it would stutter and hitch at times, or suffer from lag etc.

It's INSANELY good. Better than my gaming rig, which with a 2080ti I was debating upgrading sooner or later and now I see no point. I added a wireless keyboard and mouse also and now playing Dune Awakening at 4k with max settings on a big screen 4k TV in the living room has added a completely new dimension to the deck. Added bonus, it uses sooo much less power than gaming locally. When I do play still on handheld, a game like Assassins Creed Shadows that would be lucky to get 90 minutes now plays for easy 3 hours.

if you've not tried geforce now on SD and game on a docked TV you're missing out! :)

Earlier this month, the agency said it would work to re-host information from a federal website that went dark. Now it says it will no longer do so.

Before you get mad at me, when was the last time you watched it?

  • Dialogue is mediocre
  • story left me indifferent
  • characters are one dimensional
  • there are no surprises
  • the world is cool tho
  • and my god are they crying a lot while carrying that MF to that Volcano 🌋

The best thing I can say about this movie trilogy is that it is kinda comfy

For context: This happened when I was about 7 years old and my brother was about 5. This happened at a family gathering at a pub with about 15 people.

(Another note) Because of how long ago this was, there may be some missing info about the event, but I can assure you that this 100% happened and what I will be sharing is my best recollection of the event.

Back in around 2016, one of my aunts got married and a few days after the wedding, we decided to have a family dinner out at a local pub (I live in England btw). This was an event on my mum's side of the family so only myself, my younger brother and my mum went out as my mum and dad live separately. We got seated in a back corner of the pub near towards an exit that lead to an area behind the pub.

With us growing bored, my brother an I decided to go outside through the back exit. We notified our mum and we then went outside to play together.

I should mention that this outdoor area was quite empty. It was quite small with only a few pieces of playing equipment present (such as a slide, swing set and monkey bars).

However, among the equipment was a Wendy house. (A Wendy house is a small outside playhouse for children to play in)

Here is where the event unfolded.

My brother started to run towards the Wendy house to go inside and play. Once he was about 4 feet (1.3m) from the door, I kid you not, a large grey mist manifested right behind him. This mist stood roughly 7 feet (2.1m) tall and had a vaguely humanoid shape. The shape of the mist was similar to an overweight man. The apparition lingered for about another second before vanishing without a trace. I begin to cry and scream after seeing it and yell at him to run. We both started to sprint back inside to our family table.

My mum, seeing me in a distraught mood, asks me what's wrong. Through the shaking of my voice and terrified sobbing, I stumbled out the events of what transpired.

The worst part, NO ONE BELIVED ME. After talking to me, my mum asked my brother if he saw something to which he responded that he didn't. This then lead to my mum to tell me that the apparition was simply caused by my imagination. Even with their denial, I was still insisting it was true until they greew tired of it and told me to shut up.

I'm 16 now and have forgotten most of the details about it. But one thing still sticks with me, and that being the terrifying image of the apparition appearing and disappearing, as clear as day.
