President Donald Trump encouraged college graduates to “break the system” while bragging that top internet executives like billionaire Elon Musk initially “hated me in my first term, and now they’re kissing my ass.”

“If you look at some of these internet people, I know so many of them, Elon is so terrific. But I know, now all of them, you know they all hated me in my first term, and now they’re kissing my ass. It’s true. All of them. It’s true,” he said to applause before graduating students at the University of Alabama Thursday night.

The Trump administration asked the US Supreme Court to let Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have access to sensitive Social Security information, escalating a privacy fight that could affect millions of people.

The administration is challenging a federal trial judge’s order blocking DOGE from having full access to personally identifiable information in the Social Security Administration database. US District Judge Ellen Lipton Hollander’s order also requires people affiliated with DOGE to “destroy and delete” data they’ve already acquired.

Germany’s domestic intelligence agency formally classified the Alternative for Germany as a right-wing extremist movement, meaning authorities will have enhanced powers to monitor the party as a potential threat to democracy.

The judgment by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution “is based on an extremely careful expert review spanning approximately three years” that examined remarks made by high-ranking AfD officials, according to a statement published Friday by Sinan Selen and Silke Willems, the office’s co-vice presidents.

“ Across the nation, judges are facing increased threats of not only physical violence, but also professional retaliation just for doing our jobs,” said Justice Jackson, speaking at a conference for judges held in Puerto Rico. “And the attacks are not random. They seem designed to intimidate those of us who serve in this critical capacity.”

WASHINGTON, May 2 - Donald Trump signed an executive order that aims to cut funding to news outlets NPR and PBS, the White House said, marking the U.S. president's latest attempt to use federal funding as leverage against institutions he does not view favorably.

The order instructs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which distributes funding to PBS and NPR stations, to "cease direct funding" to them, according to the order's text released by the White House late on Thursday. It labeled the news outlets as partisan and biased.

Can Debian not be added here? Linux Mint is based on Debian, and no company owns Debian.

Just asked Mistral Le Chat about this, here's the reply:

*"There is evidence suggesting that Northvolt, the Swedish battery manufacturer, faced significant issues with the machinery supplied by Chinese companies. According to various sources, Northvolt relied heavily on Chinese machinery and personnel to operate it. This reliance led to several problems, including incomplete documentation for the equipment, which made it difficult for Northvolt to operate the machinery effectively without the direct involvement of Chinese technicians.

Additionally, there were speculations about potential sabotage, as certain components within the machinery appeared to be remotely controllable, and there were allegations of defective equipment provided by the Chinese supplier Wuxi Lead. These issues, combined with Northvolt's internal management problems and rapid expansion, contributed to the company's financial struggles and eventual bankruptcy filing."*
