I think there are a lot of good takes here. And I do think you might gain a better understanding of it if you were able to chat with a creator directly. So maybe reach out someone in the community.
That would help you understand the actual work involved, the hours, the effort, but also the less ethical parts of it like hiring marketing agencies or talent support groups that work on your behalf acting like you - and as I understand it, all the "big girls" are doing it. So you might need to decide that if you would be OK with that.
Also, and I am saying this as a former patron of OF creators, please understand the market and who you are "competing" against. Yes, there are other OF models, but also there are other porn sites. You will be competing against the big studios, as well as the prominent models for the same amount of disposable income.
That said, please don't forget, if you commit to this, there might be an opportunity cost - this will be a part of your "past", and it will probably block some opportunities in the future because of the "taboo" of sex work. And this is not just professional life I am talking about, it will be personal life as well.
