From Europe here. This is my opinion but Im about 90% convonced this is how its gonna go down: The US is in the midst of a fascist takeover which will either lead to a revolution and tens of million deaths or with the US implementing fascism in every other (western) country, taking over those that resist by military force. There wont be a world war as there is no possible opposition.
Its gonna be the hardest century humanity has faced in a long time, and US citizens still have the opportunity to sacrifice themselves for a better future but I doubt it will happen, we are looking at Cyberpunk 2077 soon. Most of us will get the Nazi Germany citizenship experience for some years and then the alternative ending where Germany won, except that H*tler cared for a big part of his people (white Germans) while the current US government will let all but 0.1% live in poverty and slavery with extra steps.

They dont want an efficient solution. They want big oil bribes.

Nah, not everyone. He just needs a group of people giving him approval and recognition. His edgelord personality needs people hating him.

How was that an excuse? They tried to derive a possible reasning. Murderers often get cuffed and noone cares when theyre not goodlooking robin hoods. Noone is questioning the hipocrisy of the court and police but answering it with just as much hipocrisy doesnt help.

"its all bad in the long run" doesnt mean that one isnt significantly worse. If youre smoking, why not just do meth instead? Both will kill you.

I dont use sweeteners because of the aftertaste but I wont deny that sugar is much worse for my health. I dont consume enough to make it an actual problem though.

Why would anyone want to buy unsweetened tea? Its literally less work making your own than carrying the cans from the store. And costs like 1/100

Im not having a bad time just because I dont talk all the time. So many people directly associate silence with sadness or loneliness.

I donno, Ive had this kind of 'fight' with my now wife pretty often. Im 30 now. She would ignore me or 'make it obvious' shes angry and I would go about my day. I told her again and again that I wouldnt play these stupid games and eventually she started discussing with me when she has a problem with something. She got it from her mother, thats how they dealt with problems in her family.

Hello, Ive used boost for reddit for a long time and really enjoyed it. I would like to use Boost for Lemmy in the same way as my main app, but whenever I open it multiple times on the same day, after like 10 posts I get the same posts I already read before. This is really the only thing keeping me from switching from Connect. Hope this reaches you and have a great week.

Edit: If we cant get this feature, is there any other way to get new stuff to my feed? As is I can only browse Boost for 10min per day.

Hi guys, so me and my mates got a website running for "internal use", like sharing pictures, recipes, events and stuff like that. We tried The Events Calendar, but the synchronisation only works if the site is public. Do you guys have any ideas what we could use? Maybe a google calendar that we synchronize with the website or something?
