Well, yes, people don't understand just how long a fucking wait it can be. Honestly I figure that joke here is the guy it's clearly ignoring his wife and not providing entertainment.

For the record, my wife's labors were both very short but I did in fact come prepared with entrainment for her. It actually helped quite a bit in postpartum (especially the first time, I stayed the night twice and we just hung out with our baby and taking turns taking care of her).

Didn't realize she was so old. Kind of wild, she played the role really well given how .. uh, unique some of her parenting was.

The kind of guy who installs Windows on his steam deck is the same kind of guy who won't let his wife get an epidural.

Tomi irritates me to no end but don't think she's stupid- she's likely just evil. The same way many Fox folks are, it's a grift and she's extremely successful at it.

Let's be clear, if you're American, British, Canadian, French or now German, there's an operation at foot to promote hard right extremes and disrupt your country. True of probably most of the world, really, even if it hasn't fully taken root in your country.

Ultimately, yes, we're in this together so no matter what your anger (or smugness level) is, keep in mind nothing good comes from other-ing those on the same side of history as you.

I was afraid of that happening. I hope the would be hopefuls end up galvanized against our current government; PhD students are a passionate bunch.

I'm so glad this is a trend.

I thought about that when I pulled up next to one. They do have side cameras like all Teslas, so I imagine you'd want to cover your tracks if you did something like this.

"In fact the ones I watch don't even have people."

Oh, that 100% tracks from that rag. By comparison, a similar article from NPR was a lot more careful about it, e.g. "Mangione has received widespread public support, despite state and federal officials discouraging it." Good lesson in identifying bias.

NPR even had the message Luigi sent out thanking his supporters, which I think is nice.

Looking over the Daily Mail (ugh), it sounds more like he expects a red wave. He says we're in for a surprise, but that's the kind of shit they always say.

That's not to say they won't reuse their bullshit playbook (lies, voter intimidation, etc) but so far the most pressing issue we have in the midterms in all states are just milquetoast neolib Democrats running the party, likely to thumb the scales on primary season yet again. You raise the energy of the opposition and the opposition will practically camp overnight in line to cast a vote (and volunteer to vote count, etc).

One of these days I hope he just gets up from his desk, says "I'm tired" and leaves the oval office and wanders off into the sea.
